Seriously Delicious Holiday Giveaway: Southside Market Sausage

20071204southsidemarket.jpgWhen winter is near, I start thinking about sausage. About the best, juiciest, meatiest, just smoky enough sausage I know is the Bracewell family makes and serves at their phenomenal Texas barbecue joint the Southside Market. The Bracewells are a generously spirited bunch, so they've given us ten pound packages of their incomparable sausage to give away as part of the Seriously Delicious Holiday Giveaway. Win and you can have your very own Texas barbecue sausage holiday party. Doesn't that sound good?

To enter: Tell us what your favorite barbecue joint is.

You have until noon ET tomorrow (December 31) to enter. One winner will be chosen at random from among the commenters. The standard Serious Eats contest rules apply. Contest winners are limited to residents of the continental U.S.

There are no real bbq joints in Buffalo Ny so I have to either cook it myself or plan trips "down South" to get it.

The Boneyard in Dearborn, MI

This is a tough decision. Corky's in Memphis is good; Colonel Poole's in Elijay, GA is quite an event; Dusty's in Atlanta has always been a family favorite (try the homemade potato chips); O.B.'s is my south side of Atlanta pick; and Harold's in Atlanta is my in town choice (get the stew and crackling cornbread). My number one, all time favorite, though, has got to be Whitt's in Athens, AL. The smoked pork is excellent, and the vinegar-based sauce is the perfect accompaniment.

Smokey Bones!

Cousin's BBQ , outside Dallas TX--but second is in my backyard on a charcoal grill!

Soul Man's Mesquite Tx

I drove 200 miles to get to Kreutz Market and it was worth it. If imitation is the highest form of flattery, Hill Country does a damn fine imitation by the way.
