Photo of the Day: Blue Rolls Bento
I like sushi. I like the color blue. I might even like blue sushi, but I have a feeling it's not something you can get at your local sushi bar. Can anyone make me a blue sushi bento box? Roy's girlfriend Reiko made one for him! Be sure to check out the rest of her intricate bento box creations. That's real love.

It's not as if it's difficult. Anyone who can make sushi can make blue sushi. Just add blue food dye to the water when you make the rice.
Me, I prefer purple.

UGH!
I'm still of the old school that's anti-blue food.
Why ever would you want blue sushi?
Besides in this case there's a lack of the essential complimentary color, Orange = which would make the blue more blue!

I love blue food (no, there's not much of it). In parts of Malaysia they tint rice blue naturally using bunga telang flowers. Unfortunately, I can't seem to find a good photo of nasi ulam (the sometimes blue rice dish) online. I have a bunch of pics in cookbooks.
This isn't my own blog post on bunga telang but I was present at the kuih factory when the photos were taken and had nearly forgotten about the adventure until I Googled "bunga telang."
See, I can't shut up about blue food...

Uh, first of all, its not sushi. They are blue rolls. AND there is orange in the bento. Its the pumpkin salad. Check it. Sorry you couldn't taste it.
Haters....
