Cheddar Bay Biscuits of Self-Loathing

cheddarbaybiscuit.jpg Rasa Malaysia confesses a weakness for Red Lobster's Cheddar Bay Biscuits so compelling she keeps going back to have them despite her feeling very strongly that chain restaurants are wrong. Her guilt drove her to Googling recipes, and she ended up baking biscuits she says are "about 80% close to the original in terms of taste".

Not bad, but I bet she'll still end up at Red Lobster! What are your chain restaurant guilty pleasures?

hot crab dip at legal seafood.

Avocado eggrolls with tamarind dipping sauce at the Cheesecake factory are my chain downfall. Oh, and the cheesecake. The apple streusel and tiramisu cheesecakes are evil.

Everything at Maggiano's.

White Castle sliders!

Fresh, hot, crispy, McDonald's french fries!

Steak-n-Shake milkshake

popeye's red beans and rice and biscuits

um, and chick-fil-a's chicken sandwiches

Thanks for hightlighting my post again...I read it on one of the blogs that a little baking powder would do wonders to this already awesome knock-off recipe...I will have to make them again.

Bye bye, Red Lobster. :P

The jello at Old Country Buffet - it's the perfect consistency, not too firm, not too soft, which is something I can never seem to achieve on my own.

I am a freak for Red Lobster biscuits. They're the only reason to suffer through their soggy crab legs.

Definitely Popeye's biscuits with a package of that honey slathered on top! If you ask for honey at my local KFC, they just blink and stare.

I've had that recipe for years. i make them often.

Popeye's chicken and biscuits. Also Arby's Beef n' Cheddar, but I'm not totally out of the closet on that one yet.

In-n-out burgers and fries -- about the only fast food I like anymore. My husband is crazy for Olive Garden's chicken parmesan, and I have to buy the salad dressing from there for salads at home!

both of my parents have a thing for McD's filet-o-fish (just...ew) and right now i'm pretty fond of their new paul newman iced hazelnut coffee.
