Bacon swizzle sticks are garnish, tool, and, snack all in one. The spiraled strip of bacon pretties up your drink, it's strong enough to stir with, and it tastes good. Though Bloody Marys are the natural match for bacon swizzle sticks, you can also try them with other spicy or savory cocktails—or even with hot chocolate.
Notes: You can use any type of bacon as long as it is cut very thick. Thin bacon will be harder to remove from the skewers, will not hold shape as well, and will not stand as stiffly in a drink. Both wood and metal skewers will work. However, the metal ones will take extra caution since they will get much hotter in the oven.

- 8 strips of thick-cut bacon
Adjust oven rack to middle position and preheat oven to 400°F.
Pierce the top of the bacon strip with a skewer, wind the bacon around the skewer, and then pierce the bottom of the strip with the other end of the skewer to hold it in place.
Put completed skewers on parchment-lined baking sheet, place in oven, and bake for 10 minutes. Carefully flip using tongs. Let cook until the bacon reaches desired crispiness 5 to 10 minutes longer.
Remove baking sheet from oven, and transfer the skewers on to paper towels once they are cool enough to touch. Blot excess oil with fresh paper towels, then carefully remove skewers.
