Manhattan Cocktails For a Crowd

Batch up a bottle of Manhattans for your next party! Note on servings: Each bottle serves eight 4-ounce Manhattans or just over ten 3-ounce Manhattans.

For garnishes, have available cocktail cherries and lemon twists.

Special equipment: 32 or liter-sized swingtop bottle or lidded pitcher

Ingredients

yield: serves 8 to 10; makes 32 ounces

  • 18 ounces rye whiskey
  • 9 ounces sweet vermouth
  • 18 dashes Angostura bitters
  • 5 ounces filtered or bottled water (something neutral, not mineral water)
  • Garnishes: cocktail cherries and lemon twists

Procedures

    Using a funnel, pour rye, vermouth, bitters, and water into bottle or pitcher. Close the bottle and chill well. Keep on ice or keep in fridge.
