Mulled Cider

This is a classic, spiced apple punch to warm up your party.

  • 64 fluid ounces apple cider
  • 1 tablespoon dark brown sugar
  • 1 medium orange
  • 2 cinnamon sticks, plus more for garnish
  • 6 whole cloves

    Place apple cider and sugar in a large pot over medium heat. Stir until sugar has dissolved. Peel entire orange with a vegetable peeler, removing zest but avoiding getting too much white pith.

    Add orange peel, cinnamon sticks, and cloves to cider mixture. Bring cider to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 20 minutes.

    Pour cider through a strainer into a large punch bowl. Garnish mugs with cinnamon sticks if desired. Serve warm.
