Ingredients

  • For the ginger syrup:
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup hot water
  • 2 ounces ginger root, peeled
  •  
  • For the cocktail:
  • 1 sage leaf
  • Ice
  • 2 ½ ounces Plymouth Gin
  • ¾ ounce lemon juice
  • ¾ ounce ginger syrup
  • 2 dashes orange blossom water
  • Garnish: orange twist

Procedures

    For the ginger syrup: Stir sugar into water until sugar dissolves. Muddle ginger root and add to syrup. Cover and refrigerate for 24 hours, then strain.

    For the cocktail: Muddle sage lightly in cocktail shaker. Fill with ice. Add gin, lemon, ginger syrup, and orange blossom water. Shake well and strain into cocktail glass. Garnish with orange twist.
