A classic drink made with port, brandy, and a whole egg, from Bourbon and Branch in San Francisco. It's served at room temperature.

- 1 ounce brandy
- 1 1/2 ounces ruby port, preferably Six Grapes
- 1/4 ounce simple syrup
- 1 egg
- Whole nutmeg for grating
Add brandy, port, and simple syrup to a cocktail shaker. Add egg (yolk and white.) Shake vigorously for one minute. Strain into an old fashioned glass. Top with freshly grated nutmeg.
