Apple Sangria

This sangria from the Los Barrios Family Cookbook by Diana Barrios TreviƱo has a secret ingredient to boost its fruitiness: a scoop of applesauce adds sweet apple flavor (and just a hint of texture).

In the fall, you could garnish each glass with a cinnamon stick. The wine-soaked apples get more delicious as they spend more time in the pitcher. Feel free to double the recipe if you have a lot of guests.
