Pinch of salt
3/4 cup milk
1/2 cup water
Assorted vegetables such as cabbage, beans, carrots

1. Sauté the onion, garlic, coriander, and pinch of cayenne in a little peanut oil. Add the sugar, the peanut butter, a pinch of salt, the milk, 1/2 cup water, and the lemon or lime peel. Cook over medium-high heat, stirring often, for five minutes.

2. Briefly parboil a colorful assortment of vegetables: cabbage, beans, carrots, etc. Arrange them on a plate, and chill them in the refrigerator. Serve with the sauce on the side.

2 Comments:

was a staple when we lived in Amsterdam. Great dish.

we used a lot of leeks, bean sprouts and (ALWAYS) sliced hard boiled egg.

Sounds delicious and funny comic but why does the Indonesian man look like a monkey? :P
