This week's Cartoon Kitchen features Serious Eats' cartoonist in residence Larry Gonick's spin on a sausage dish. —Ed Levine

1 pound prunes
1 lemon slice
1 pound Polish sausage, sliced
Sour cream
1. Cook the prunes in water along with a slice of lemon. When tender, remove the pits.
2. Cook off some of the fat on the Polish sausage, return prunes to pot along with the sausage, and simmer till done.
3. Thicken sauce with 4 to 5 dollops of sour cream; cook a few more minutes.
