The Cartoon Kitchen: Kale with Raisins and Pine Nuts

Kale with Raisins and Pine Nuts

Ingredients

Olive oil
1/4 cup pine nuts
1/2 cup raisins
1 bunch kale, washed and chopped
Salt

Procedure

1. In a little olive oil, sauté the pine nuts and raisins quickly, until nuts begin to brown. Remove from pan.

2. Add another dollop of oil and the kale. Sauté over high heat, turning occasionally until well wilted.

3. Return nuts and raisins to pan; stir well; salt to taste. Serve.

I have a similar recipe - only difference is, I add a dose of maple syrup at the end when adding the nuts and raisins back to the pan. It brings the flavors together amazingly well.
