The Cartoon Kitchen: Filbert Brownies
About This Recipe
- Hazelnuts, a couple handfuls
- 1 stick butter (1/4 pound)
- 2 ounces unsweetened chocolate
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/3 cup flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 2/3 cup ground hazelnuts
In a blender, pulverize a couple handfuls of hazelnuts.
Melt 1 stick butter with 2 ounces chocolate. Meanwhile beat 2 eggs with 1 cup sugar and 1 teaspoon vanilla.
Combine 1/3 cup flour, 1 teaspoon baking powder, 2/3 cup ground nuts; blend into eggs. Stiffen with more hazelnut powder, if desired.
Bake in an 8-inch square pan for 30 minutes at 350°F.
