Definitely Corn Pudding. It's the only thing I ever make that requires a mix of any sort but it's become such a tradition I'd have mutiny without it.
I love this dish because you can bake it at whatever temp the oven happens to be... The range is about 325 to 375, adjust baking time accordingly... It's best to use a shallow-ish baking dish or it takes forever.
Corn Pudding
Single Batch (I always make a double batch)
1/2 Stick Unsalted Butter, melted
1 Cup Sour Cream
1 Can Creamed Corn
1 Can..Kernel Corn (I prefer frozen kernel corn)
1 Box Jiffy Corn Muffin Mix
3 Eggs
Mix all ingredients together, pour into greased shallow-ish baking dish and bake, ideally, at 350 degrees for 1 hour but as low as 325 for 1.5 hours or 375 for 45 minutes... (Make it once, you'll see why I never make a single batch.)

Turkey day is my olympics. I tend to make the same core menu every year because it is so well received. For those of you cooking your first Thanksgiving meal, please, please, please ask your questions. Let us old hats help you. We have made the mistakes and lived to tell the tales.
I have posted my menu on another thread

If you have not planned your meal now is the time to reach out to the SE crowd and let us give you a hand. What a great body of knowledge are we.

Thanks chiffOnade! I too am making corn pudding but wasn't going to tell anyone cause(blush) it's from Jiffy cornmuffin mix! Thanks for letting me "come out of the closet" on that one. I simply can't have turkey day without it!
....I will also make some homemade cranberry sauce to redeem myself however. Mom-in -law's making the rest..sigh.

ok people, tell me you cannot find a nice milled corn bread/muffin mix without all the junk in it. Practically everywhere is a local grain mill brand.
We often talk about buying local. This year just think about it.
If all else fails try http://www.hodgsonmill.com/roi/673/Wheat-Free-Products/ They sell this at practically every grocery store and Walmart.
Martha White has self rising cornmeal.
Among bloggers and chefs Anson Mills seems to be the decided must have in milled products. http://www.ansonmills.com/products-page.htm
I tend to like a NC mill I am familar with that is perfect everytime and they sell cornbread muffin mix. http://www.atkinsonmilling.com/cart-guru/cart.php?m=product_list&c=7
We often talk to the talk. I know Jiffy is easy to get and simple to use.
Nothing ventured.....

Jerzee Tomato, while I appreciate your suggestions regarding other corn mixes (and hope others take your suggestion) I am mired in nostaglia when it comes to the holidays. I really just like the retro box Jiffy comes in...it reminds me of my mom...and since she won't be with me this Thanksgiving, I'm gonna make her recipe- the way she does it.

bisbee,
I hear you and I understand.
I think out loud often. I also agree to disagree. Pssst my mom used it too.
