As Serious Eats overlord, I want to take a moment to give thanks as we celebrate our ninth Thanksgiving with all of you, our beloved Serious Eats community. First off, I want to thank our community of Serious Eaters, which is now millions strong, for supporting us with regular visits to our site. We recently received an email from a reader that I hope reflects the feelings many of you have for our work:
"Hi Serious Eats Team—I wanted to say thank you. I have cooked many of your recipes and shared them with many friends. It is your content, the way you manage it, it's everything. It's the collective you! So many people have had happy homes with happy meals because of the work you do."
If I had to describe the core mission of Serious Eats, I couldn't have said it better than that: Making people happy through good food is what we truly set out to do almost 10 years ago, and it is indeed a collective effort.
That leads me to my second round of thanks, which is for the entire Serious Eats staff and all of our contributors. I couldn't be prouder of the team we have put together. Every single member of our staff is at the top of their game, and, while our readers get to see the fruit of their tireless labor on the site, I see the hours and days of dedication that go into each and every post. Our Thanksgiving coverage has been doubly impressive this year, given that it was produced in the midst of a move into a pretty raw space in a different borough of New York, which makes the achievements of our staff all the more remarkable.
Finally, I have to thank the good folks at Fexy Media: They have given us the wherewithal to do everything we were doing before they acquired us, and then some. The people at Fexy have made many more things possible on the site, and, as creative-business people, that's all we can ask for.
Happy Thanksgiving, Serious Eaters! May your Turkey Day be filled with seriously delicious food and the love of all the people with whom you'll be sharing the meal.
