Welcome Shabu!
Welcome Shabu!

Meet Shabu, Jamón's new sister in San Francisco. She's a four year old terrier-beagle mix with the pinkest tongue you've ever seen and a tail that wags like nobody's business.

OK, well it doesn't wag all the time. She's already settled right into her bed next to Jamón's in Kenji's office. Did you really make us raise our heads just so you can take a picture?

Fun in the sun
Fun in the sun

When it's sunny out, she much prefers sitting on the steps to Kenji's porch to get a bit of tanning in. We're not sure if she knows what's going on in the East Coast right now, but we are sure that she wouldn't want to find out. Ignorance is sweet, sunny bliss.

Happy Birthday Chris!

Or is it just an excuse to get Popeye's fried chicken...

CHOMP

What do you get the man who has everything for his birthday? A drumstick, duh.

Look at that crispy skin...

It's just...so...good.

Grilled cheese time
Grilled cheese time

Niki made 10 grilled cheese sandwiches in one day. Not including the vegans in the office, that's 2 sandwiches per person.

Chinese food in NYC
Chinese food in NYC

To celebrate the launch of our guide to Where to Eat Chinese Food in NYC, Max, Vicky, Paul, and Tracie went to The Bao for some pretty killer soup dumplings, among other deliciousness.

Please excuse the crappy phone picture quality.

Sipping some sake
Sipping some sake
After our feast on Chinese food, we went over to Sake Bar Decibel where our drinks were served in these cute little masu boxes. Please excuse the crappy phone picture quality.

After our unofficial tea week, Max and Leang met up with Sebastian and Ana of In Pursuit of Tea for an afternoon tea break. (This is how you deal with 5-degree weather.) The Serious Eats office is nice and all, but we'd like it a lot more if it had this view and awesome tea nook.

Bread delivery!
Bread delivery!
Our resident baker Max stopped by with a ton of fresh bread from his new post at Nine Chains. Perfect addition to the ton of grilled cheese sandwiches that were already in progress.
