Snapshots From the First Semi-Annual Serious Eats Foodlympics
Here at Serious Eats, we love the Olympics. A lot. (Did you see the Russian police officers singing "Get Lucky" at the opening ceremony?!) So much so that we decided to dedicate last Friday to a day of competitive food-centric events designed to test our mettle and show off our
athletic gustatory prowess.
Some were based off of existing Olympic events (curling with Cronuts*), while others were engineered specifically for the purposes of this competition (Oreo stackage). What does it take to become a true Foodlympian? A mix of speed (the Saltine challenge), endurance (grape-cheek stuffage), and skill (salting accuracy), plus the ability to represent your friends and countrymen with a smile.

*Actually Crumbnuts, the Crumbs Bakery Cronut knockoff, because we couldn't handle the line at Dominique Ansel Bakery for the real deal
