We've been hearing it for a few years, now: food is the new rock. From badass chefs going totally punk rock with their culinary endeavors, to guitar shredding frontmen waxing poetic about restaurants, food and rock have never been more complementary.
Which makes us really freaking excited for the first annual Bottle Rock Festival, coming to Napa Valley this week. Featuring an absolutely stellar lineup of musical acts (have I mentioned that The Black Keys are one of my favorite things, up there with guacamole and goat gouda!?) and an equally kick-ass roster of wine country-centric food and drink, Bottle Rock is bringing together the best of all possible worlds, for four glorious, sun-drenched days.
We'll be there, eating, drinking, and rocking out plenty hard. For this very special edition of Ask a Chef, we've checked in with some of the chefs at the festival to find out what tunes get them going in the kitchen. From old school blues to LCD Soundsystem (and a whole lotta love for my boys, The Black Keys!), here are the chefs' picks. And tell us: what's on your cooking soundtrack?
