Bacon and Egg Tartlets with Gouda Cheese and Green Onions [Photograph: JuliasAlbum]

Our last challenge for Weekend Cook and Tell was for all of you to share your favorite single servings. We called this Cooking For One. Cooking for ourselves gives the opportunity to eat whatever we want, whenever we want and it looks like it's a talent we all possess. Although, more than one Serious Eater admitted to feeling a bit lazy and munching on whatever was handy (Peanut M&M's, anyone?). Here are our favorite single serving plates (and a few lazy-bum suggestions, too).

This comment is Leandra approved. chickenlivers's ideal dinner when alone sometimes is just a bowl of Lucky Charms. We can relate to that.

juliasalbum loves variations on breakfast tartlets. You can choose from bacon, egg and spinach, egg and grape tomato, or bacon and egg with gouda and green onion. They keep well in the refrigerator for several days, so you can take care of several meals in one fell swoop.

KarmaFreeCooking makes a mean bowl of mashed potatoes. Choose from a broccoli variation or a fun and pretty purple potato mash.

Keeping some items prepped makes for a quicker dinner. SeattleDee typically has dough waiting in the fridge or freezer for the next individual pizza party. And who doesn't love an individual sized pizza? You can try this Crab Pizza to get that party started.

Heck, maybe you just want something no one else will eat like korenni. "Nobody I know likes beef tongue except me, so as a treat when I'm on my own, I'll get a whole tongue and boil it with a lot of whole spices. It's usually gone in a few days, as I dearly love tongue sandwiches."

In 2012, we demonstrated our love for shakshuka through many posts. May_be shares a mutual love. When she's home alone, she makes her own Shakshuka , especially loving its inexpensive and healthy benefits.

Finally, claireOOTO keeps it simple and snacky with a recipe for popcorn cooked in olive oil. From there, you can add your favorite spice, or sweetness.

A big thank you to everyone for sharing their sandwich love for this week's Weekend Cook and Tell challenge. Be sure to head over to Talk and read about next week's challenge: Flu Fighters
