This year I learned a little secret from our neighbors to the North. Canadians put ketchup, salt & vinegar, barbecue, and sour cream & onion flavors on a single chip and call it All-Dressed. I call it delicious.
Nacho Cheese Doritos
I don't feel the need to explain myself on this one. They make my list every year.
Kettle Brand Sweet Onion
Trumped by sour cream and various sexy cheeses, onion rarely gets top billing in the chip world. Kettle Brand Chips puts an end to that trend with this sweet, pungent, addicting offering. Nobody puts onion in a corner.
Tayto Roast Chicken
Crush a chicken bouillon cube over a pile of freshly fried crisps and you'd get pretty close to these gems. If you're drunk enough, it kind of tastes like eating a bag of crispy chicken skin.
I can't say enough good things about these spicy-sweet, tooth-sticking tubes of crispy joy. They're available at H-Mart, if you are lucky enough to have one near you.
Tyrrell's Mature Cheddar & Chives
Tyrrell's are super-premium, seriously crunchy British crisps fried from fancy potato varieties. They have an extensive (and very good) flavor catalogue but Cheddar & Chives are tops in my book.
Utz Mystic Potato Chips
I haven't written much on Utz to date, but that's just because I've been way too busy eating these chips. Utz has finally put a player into the kettle-style chip game and they dunk in your face with a firm crispness and light seasoning.
Burger King Whopper Chips
Potato chips that taste exactly like a Whopper. Except you can only find them at Burger Kings in Mexico.
Utz "The Crab Chip"
The Chesapeake Bay Crab Seasoning (aka Old Bay) tastes predominantly of celery salt, which tastes like Lipton Cup-A-Soup powder, which of course is the perfect thing to sprinkle on a potato chip.
