Sunday Brunch: Herb Waffles with Sausage and Peppers Topped with a Fried Egg

Although waffles are mostly thought of as sugary treats, they make a fantastic savory dish as well. This savory brunch includes garlic as well as fresh herbs in the batter, and then tops them with quickly cooked peppers, sausages, and a runny fried egg. Make sure you have all the making for a few bloody Marys and a selection of hot sauce to serve alongside these savory waffles.

If there's a question about whether or not you really need a waffle iron, ask yourself these two questions. Do I eat brunch? Do I like fried chicken? If you answer yes to both, then go buy yourself a waffle iron. If you're still on the fence, imagine all the creative ways you can use the new abundance of waffles coming from your kitchen: topped with ice cream, torn into little pieces and stuffed inside a roast chicken, soaked in a sweet batter and made into bread pudding—the options are endless!
