Our last challenge for Weekend Cook and Tell was for all of you to share your favorite pasta plates. We called this Fresh Pasta. Few things satisfy a stomach on a need comfort day like pasta. Take a look and see what noodly ideas were shared for your viewing/cooking pleasure.

Juliasalbum got her hands dusty with flour while rolling out her fresh-made pasta for Ravioli with spinach and ricotta cheese filling, in tomato cream sauce. Julia, your efforts paid off. Heaven in a mini-pasta-pillow.

Sometimes a shortcut is a hungry cook's best friend. zahavah uses pre-made wonton wrappers to make tortellini and ravioli at home. She even provides a recipe that shows her thinking outside the box: Spicy Carrot Tortellini with Lemon Cumin Sauce, inspired by flavors of the Middle East.

Continuing along the lines of trying pasta with different sauces, claireOOTO provides us with her fresh pasta recipe (woot, woot!) to pair with beans, creating homemade noodles with black beans and tamari. Her dish was inspired by the film Castaway on the Moon, in which the main character goes to much trouble to make his own black bean noodles. She highly recommends the film and we highly recommend these noodles!

Finally, duncan1205 once took a handmade pasta cooking class and thought it was a blast! They made egg pastas (garganelli, papardelle, fettuccine, ravolis) and non-egg pasta (orecchietti). She even bought a hand-crank pasta machine to continue the pasta-party at home. duncan1205, I'm pretty sure we'd all be happy to catch while you crank, as long as it means we get a percentage of the noodles.

A big thank you to everyone for sharing their carb-heaven recipes for this week's Weekend Cook and Tell challenge. Be sure to head over to Talk and read about next week's challenge: Puff Pastry FTW, Literally
