Opened in March 2011, Revival Market has been a very welcome addition to the ever-improving food scene in the mostly residential Heights neighborhood. An appealing specialty market-cum-café featuring local products including heritage breed meats, it has also gained some acclaim for its sandwiches. The familiar-sounding names, such as BLT, Club and Muffaletta, don't do much justice to these thoughtfully made-to-order creations comprised of superb ingredients.

The Grilled Cheese with the addition of ham ($12.50) consists of Texas-produced Colby cheese, thin slices of house-made ham and caramelized onions in between two pieces of a seeded sourdough bread from the top-notch Slough Dough Bakery. The mild Colby melts easily and arrives in a nearly molten state. The caramelized onions add a pleasant sweetness and depth of flavor that pairs well with both the cheese and the tastier-than-usual ham. More than the sum of the parts, it is delicious, even tasting somewhat "like a French onion soup," as the staffer behind the counter opined.
