Little Horns, by Renu Devi

Congratulations to Renu Devi, the winner of our Pepperidge FarmĀ® Puff Pastry Contest!

Renu created Puff Pastry Horns filled with turkey, apple, cranberry and a cumin spice mixture with organic carrots, radish and beet shavings in lime vinaigrette.

We love the cornucopia shape, filled with many of our favorite fall flavors. The horns are a hearty treat and would be a great addition to any harvest dinner menu!

Renu is originally from India and celebrates both Indian and American festivals. "The remarkable coincidence is that Diwali, the festival of lights happens to fall around the same time as Thanksgiving. The cornucopia represents the themes of harvest...and in Indian mythology, it represents a home that is always bountiful, prosperous and never lacking of food (typical of Diwali)."

When we asked her about the cumin spice mixture, she said it's her own concoction of cumin, coriander, ginger, turmeric, chilli powder and mango powder. "I picked these after several experimentations to complement the turkey meat in texture and taste. My philosophy is that an appetizer should pack a punch of flavors in a bite (or two!)."

We are excited to eat pastries with Renu in NYC! She will also receive a Cuisinart stand mixer and great baking gear from Pepperidge Farm.
