What do you eat when nobody's looking? Halal chicken and rice from the 53rd & 6th cart.
Describe your perfect meal. That's difficult, though I think I'd go with something simple. A fresh penne with slow-cooked lamb bolognese sauce, fresh basil, and pecorino romano.
What food won't you eat? Liver. Keep that stuff away.
Favorite food person? New York Times Dining section photographer Andrew Scrivani. (Does he count?)
When did you first realize you were a serious eater? I don't think there was a particular moment in time, but my eating obsession develops with me. For as long as I can remember, my mind is wandering towards what I'll be eating next.
What do your family and friends think of your food obsessions? They don't mind it. In fact, most appreciate my food discoveries.
Everyone has a go-to person they call for restaurant recommendations. Who's yours? Believe it or not, I enjoy taking recommendations from just about anybody because I love the feeling of discovering an awesome new restaurant. After all, what's the worst that could happen?
What is your favorite meal of the day and where do you get it? I'm a big breakfast person and without my daily sausage egg and cheese breakfast with coffee, I don't function too well.
Do you ever cook? What's the best dish you make? I love cooking when I have the time and cash to do so. I think my best dish would be the sausage, egg and cheese since I make it so frequently, though I also experiment with pastas and dabble in pizza baking.
