Mexican Made Easy: Marcela and her sister Carina bring out their mother's recipes for this Mother's Day special. Marcela attempts to teach Carina how to make Polverones (a sweet walnut cookie) as well as slow cooked pork with a tomatillo salsa. 9 a.m. ET, Food Network

Paula's Best Dishes: Paula Deen is joined in the kitchen by her friends Amy Martin and Suzette Wagner as they all cook southern staples. They tackle Cajun Crawfish Bread, Skillet Chicken with Rhubarb and Onions, and for dessert they finish with a Volcano Cake. 10 a.m. ET, Food Network

Trisha's Southern Kitchen: In this episode Trisha hangs out with a group of her best friends while they cook up nostalgic recipes. Georgia Pate (aka redneck hummus) and Chickless Pot Pie are featured as is Trisha's attempt to recreate her wedding cake. 10:30 a.m. ET, Food Network

Giada at Home: Giada's Aunt Raffy joins her in the kitchen to re-create some of grandmother Nonna Luna's recipes. These recipes have been passed down from Nonna Luna to Raffy to Giada. Some favorites include Nonna's Artichokes, Baked Risotto and a special Spinach Loaf. 11:30 a.m. ET, Food Network

Food Network Star: This first episode of the eighth season of Food Network Star looks at the casting process with mentors Bobby Flay, Giada De Laurentiis, and Alton Brown. 9 p.m. ET, Food Network

Guy's Big Bite: Guy Fieri takes his favorite protein, pork, and adds cheese to create his Brie Smothered Pork Chop. If that sounds a little heavy, his side of Farro Out salad is a nice counterpoint to the richness of the pork chop. 10:30 a.m. ET, Food Network

Sandwich King: Sandwich King Jeff has an incredibly busy schedule which doesn't always leave time for his wife. However, on this episode, he meets Chef Randy Waidner at Luxbar where they turn luxurious foods into amazing sandwiches for Jeff to take back to his wife. Steak and fresh lobster both make appearances and chocolate and strawberry make for a romantic dessert sandwich. 11 a.m. ET, Food Network

The Best Thing I Ever Made: On this episode, Michael Chiarello, Marcella Valladolid, mary Sue Milliken, and Iron Chef Geoffrey Zakarian reveal what delicious dishes they are making their family for dinner. Melt-in-the-mouth Tomatillo Glazed Ribs are featured as is a spectacular Table of Polenta. 11:30 a.m. ET, Food Network

Cupcake Champions: The past winners from Cupcake Wars reconvene in this Cupcake Champions series. The first four returning bakers compete against each other while tackling the theme of Spider-Man: Turn off the Dark Broadway play. 8 p.m. ET, Food Network

Food Network Star: In the Next Food Network Star Season 8 premiere, 15 new aspiring TV chefs are divided into three teams headed by mentors Bobby Flay, Alton Brown, and Giada de Laurentiis. Invention Hunters: While the official series opener is Monday the 14th, this sneak preview of Invention Hunters introduces Steve Greenberg and Patrick Raymond as the hosts of this new show. Greenberg and Raymond take a look at three homemade inventions: Sippin' Snacker, Produce Freshies, and Drinking Duck. The winning inventor gets to pitch their product to potential buyers who can make their dreams a reality. 11 p.m. ET, Food Network
