For last week's Weekend Cook and Tell we asked all of you to break out the fine china for Tea Time, a most civilized challenge. We were looking for afternoon tea appropriate bites and pastries that would be at home on your shiniest sterling three-tiered tray. Here's a peek at some of our most elegant teatime edibles.

Resident baker extraordinaire, dbcurrie chimed in with another great bakeable, Tomato Goat Cheese Scones, a savory take on the teatime classic.

The Primlani Kitchen set the tea time table with adorable and indulgent little Truffled Goat Cheese, Watercress, and Cucumber Sandwiches. The filling sounds outrageously delicious, but we're especially loving the star-shaped cut-outs.

Vegan and gluten-free aren't words typically associated with tea but munchinmunchkin has come up with a recipe for Meyer Lemon Squares that are just that and healthy to boot, made with cashew cream, almond milk, and figs.

Not a regular partaker in afternoon tea, KarmaFreeCooking's spread would include Chai Masala, wee Veggie Party Sandwiches and petite Spinach Pinwheels.

As a fan of little savory tarts and piesclaireOOTO has full of all sorts of great tea eats ideas like salty-sweet Chard and Raisin Tarts, British-inspired Vegetarian Cornish Pasties and lovely Crispy, Lacy Almond Cookies

Tea time with smsingram means cream cheese sandwiches with dried figs and Vegan Currant Scones adapted from Sundays at Moosewood Restaurant.

A big thank you to everyone who steeped up to the pot for this week's Weekend Cook and Tell challenge. Be sure to head over to Talk and read about next week's challenge: Put an Egg on it!.
