Too many burgers
Intern Lauren went to McDonald's with Alice to take photos of burgers for an upcoming post on A Hamburger Today.
Hambone wanted matzoh. Because Hambone generally wants everything.
Matzoh victory! Note: Hambone has to be the least Jewish name for a dog.
Shooting the 'Mate
Robyn Lee photographs the Coffeemate, while Leandra investigates further and Erin looks on, equal parts amused and terrified.
Organizing the 'Mate
Leandra and Jessica, sorting the entire Coffeemate selection into 'families' before a grand tasting begins.
Leandra and Erin vs. Coffee Mate, Round 2
After tasting seven "mates" in a row, Cereal Eats columnist Leandra took a break before tackling some more, with Erin's moral support.
Scooped columnist Ethan Frisch came by to join SENY editor Max on a hunt for rice rolls in Chinatown. Along the way they found these lollipop-like snacks. The one on the right is a candied sour olive; the one on the left...well, we're not sure, but it tasted like a cross between a plum and a fish.
So many buns
Yet another day where we walk out of Golden Steamer with bags of buns. This time it was to feed the group from the IACP conference stopping by the office.
Taste of Italian Easter
Carey and Erin sample Nudo Colomba cake—sort of the Easter equivalent of panettone. It was very fluffy, with big chunks of candied orange peel scattered throughout.
Carey traveled to Italy on a press trip, where she went truffle hunting with Faina (dog's name) in the hills outside San Pietro Avellana.
Italian cheese factory tour
Truffles and cheese with every meal? Not a bad diet to have in Italy. Carey suited up to visit the cheese-makin' at Caseficio di Nucci in Agnone, Italy.
Icelandic skyr factory tour
Meanwhile Erin suited up in Iceland to see how skyr is made at the Mjolkkursamsalan factory. Stay tuned for behind-the-scenes photos!
Yuba is Chief Creative Officer J. Kenji Lopéz-Alt's newest family member. A five-year-old Boston Terrier rescue, she's as sweet a little girl as you could hope for. A little timid and a little shy, but once she warms up to you, she's all joy. Welcome to the team, Yuba!
Yuba Meets Hambone
Do Yuba and Hambone get along? Yes, yes they do. Here they are engaging in a bit of tug-o-war (Hambone has the advantage at three times her weight).
All tuckered out...
After a romp, Hambone and Yuba take a snooze by Hambone's giant doggy bed.
