Food at the Sweetlife Festival: Serious Eats Muffuletta and Serious Sweets from Bouchon Bakery, Momofuku Milk Bar

We're getting pumped for the Sweetlife Food + Music Festival on April 28 at Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, MD. The Shins, Avicii, Kid Cudi, Fun., Explosions in the Sky, and many other bands will be there. We've been helping the Sweetlife folks curate the food selection and it's going to be mighty tasty. Over the next couple of weeks we'll show you just how tasty with more menu details, and in each post, you'll have the chance to win tickets!

First things first: the Serious Eats muffulettas! We'll be there making one of our favorite sandwiches on the planet, and this is officially the first time we've ever sold them to you people. All those delicately oily, salty meats—the capicola, mortadella, and sopressata—from Salumeria Biellese will be layered with olives and giardiniera on fresh loaves of bread. The recipe can be found in the Serious Eats book, but let's be honest, you want Kenji to make it for you.

We'll also have a Serious Sweets station with chocolate bouchons from Bouchon Bakery and assorted cookies from Momofuku Milk Bar. We thought of the milk too, don't worry.
