Pastry tasting with Jessica, Ed, and Erin
So many sauce tubs
This is what happens when you order all the sauces at Pommes Frites in NYC. Yes, every single one.
So many hot dogs
And this is what happens when you order all the hot dogs from Japadog
Maggie, juicer for a day
On a good day (or just a day when the kitchen isn't inundated with fries and hot dogs) we head over to DiPalo across the street from HQ for mozzarella and prosciutto sandwiches.
Hambone wants sandwich
Hambone spotted Ed's sandwich. Let the puppy-eyed staring begin.
"Give me food give me food give me food"
Hambone is very persuasive.
Here we are strategizing the FUTURE of Serious Eats. [*ominous futuristic music plays*]
The Print kitchen served what has to be the best off-site retreat food ever. Roast chicken that was moist and juicy, beet salad that won over even avowed beet haters, addictive roast fingerling potatoes, mixed green salad with a tasty vinaigrette, and for dessert, Heather Carlucci-Rodriguez's signature chocolate bread with fresh ricotta and local honey.
Ed, food stylist for a day
After the meeting, we rewarded ourselves with bowling. Our other choice was karaoke; Ed wanted it, but no one else did. Sorry, Ed!
Ed's bowling dance
No on else can match Ed's body and arm gestures while bowling. He doesn't just roll the ball; he feels the ball.
Ed's bowling dance, continued
Another Ed bowling pose.
Ed shares a toast with Carey and Erin. Ed's new favorite drink = the "Punch-Ed" on the Lucky Strike cocktail menu.
Waiting for their turns
Jessica, Meredith, and Erin chat during bowling downtime.
Max, Jessica, and Leandra
Just when we thought the meal was over, out came desserts. Four desserts! Two of which contained Nutella.
"Maybe you'll give me food!"
Let the impromptu staring contest between Hambone and intern Niki begin!
Hambone's most likely staring at a piece of food. ...Okay, definitely staring at a piece of food.
Kenji, Carey, and a wagon of Maker's Mark
Kenji and Carey visited the Maker's Mark distillery in Loretto, Kentucky. Here is about the quaintest picture they could have ever sent us from Bourbonville.
More from Kentucky
Here's Carey and Kenji playing with an interactive video installation at the 21c hotel in Louisville.
