Pastry tasting with Jessica, Ed, and Erin
Pastry tasting with Jessica, Ed, and Erin
Sometimes Ed arrives at the office with a bag of pastries from a new restaurant or bakery and tells the rest of the office to try them. Yup, we like those days. Here he is with Jessica and Erin.

This is what happens when you order all the sauces at Pommes Frites in NYC. Yes, every single one.

Lunchtime
Lunchtime
On a good day (or just a day when the kitchen isn't inundated with fries and hot dogs) we head over to DiPalo across the street from HQ for mozzarella and prosciutto sandwiches.

Hambone spotted Ed's sandwich. Let the puppy-eyed staring begin.
"Give me food give me food give me food"
Hambone is very persuasive.

Here we are strategizing the FUTURE of Serious Eats. [*ominous futuristic music plays*]
Lunch
Lunch
The Print kitchen served what has to be the best off-site retreat food ever. Roast chicken that was moist and juicy, beet salad that won over even avowed beet haters, addictive roast fingerling potatoes, mixed green salad with a tasty vinaigrette, and for dessert, Heather Carlucci-Rodriguez's signature chocolate bread with fresh ricotta and local honey.

Ed may not be Maria del Mar Sacasa, but he did a fine job plating the salad for Robyn to take a photo of. (Bonus: Jessica's photo of Robyn and Ed.)
Ed's bowling dance

No on else can match Ed's body and arm gestures while bowling. He doesn't just roll the ball; he feels the ball.

Ed shares a toast with Carey and Erin. Ed's new favorite drink = the "Punch-Ed" on the Lucky Strike cocktail menu.

Max, Jessica, and Leandra
After bowling, we ate dinner at Don Antonio. Here are three happy Serious Eaters: Max, Jessica, and Leandra.
Dessert
Dessert
Just when we thought the meal was over, out came desserts. Four desserts! Two of which contained Nutella.
"Maybe you'll give me food!"
Let the impromptu staring contest between Hambone and intern Niki begin!

Kenji and Carey visited the Maker's Mark distillery in Loretto, Kentucky. Here is about the quaintest picture they could have ever sent us from Bourbonville.

In response to Robyn's tweet about America's Test Kitchen's Wall of Awesome, SE reader Didi Paterno whipped up a Serious Eats Wall of Awesome! Thanks, Didi!
