Guilty pleasures? Twinkies. Every three or four years, I absolutely have to eat Twinkies. And Cheetos. Not the little crunchy ones, and not the spicy ones. Just the regular original Cheetos. I don't actually feel guilty about either, but they look a little out of place in my grocery cart.

Describe your perfect meal: If you're talking about dining out, then it's probably a "steakhouse" meal. Salad, prime rib, baked potato, creamed spinach.

Food won't you eat: It used to be raisins and shredded coconut, but I've managed to vanquish those aversions. I still won't seek them out, and would avoid them if they're obvious, but I can handle them in a small amount. On the other hand, I can't eat nori. I'm not sure why. The taste is okay but I just can't choke it down.

Favorite Food Person: Alton Brown.

When did you first realize you were a serious eater?I think I always knew but was astonished when I found out other kids didn't like broccoli or liver or pickled herrings. Or all the other foods that I liked so much.

What do your family and friends think of your food obsessions? They enjoy reaping the benefits. Some of them think I'm kind of nuts for spending so much time in the kitchen.

Favorite food sites or blogs (besides SE)?That's like asking me to pick my favorite wooden spoon. So many blogs, not enough time. How about a few blogs you might not know about? Foodhunter's Guide to Cuisine amuses me for the name and the fact that it's honest an unpretentious. Diabetic Foodie sounds like a blog with a very narrow focus, but aside from the fact there's nutritional information for recipes, you'd never guess the blogger is diabetic. Cooking with Books has pretty pictures and recipes that I want to make. Last but not least is Thyme in our Kitchen, somewhat a rarity among food blogs, since the blogger is a guy.

Everyone has a go-to person they call for restaurant recommendations. Who's yours? There are a few people I would ask, and then do exactly the opposite? Does that count? I'm not naming those names.

What is your favorite meal of the day and where do you get it? Many days, I only eat one meal. Dinner. At home. If I eat lunch, it's likely to be leftovers from the night before.

Do you ever cook? What's the best dish you make? Ever? More like always. If you ask my husband he might say deviled eggs. Or meatloaf. Or liver and onions. I'm pretty sure he married me because of liver and onions.

If you woke up tomorrow as a food, what would it be?Bread dough! How great would it be to be kneaded?
