9 Nutty Sweets in Brussels

That's Nuts

A weekly dose of nutty history, pop culture, and recipes from Lee Zalben, aka The Peanut Butter Guy.

Amid the moules frite, croquettes au crevettes, magret de canard, and fantastic beer, Brussels is full of many charming chocolate shops. One of my favorite parts about visiting a shop is the complimentary bon bon almost always offered.

Sometimes it comes while you're browsing; sometimes, it's not until after you make your purchases. They'll ask, "degustation?" and your answer should be an enthusiastic, "oui, merci!"

With so much chocolate on hand in Brussels, I always look out for interesting combinations with nuts. Here are nine that caught my eye ยป

Since many of the shops lack large flashy signs, I've included some glimpses of their beautiful but often understated exteriors to help you find them when chocolate hunting in Brussels.
