Last week on the old Weekend Cook and Tell we asked all of you to toss the maple syrup and butter for a savory pancake challenge we called Pancakes Anytime. We were on the hunt for fantastic pancake recipes that strayed from breakfasty convention with bold, salty flavors and dinner ready add-ins. Here's a look at some of our favorite anytime-pancakes.

claireOOTO concocted a cheater's chickpea flour pancake that's much easier to work with than the usual French socca. She's also the innovator behind the Ooto, a versatile yeasted semolina pancake.

deliciousbydesign has spent ages perfecting the perfect latke recipe. Check out her Super Crispy Latkes made all the more crispy by squeezing all of the liquid out of the batter.

For The Primlani Kitchen the delicate crepe is a fantastic blank canvas with endless possibilities, like repurposing leftovers into delicious veggie filled crepes.

earthlydelights is a big fan of pancakes in all of their forms. For elegant hors d'oeuvres it's these sweet and salty Sweet Potato Latkes with Maple Mascarpone and Smoked Salmon and for brunch these gorgeous Savory Crepes with Roasted Mixed Mushrooms, Mascarpone, Crispy Prosciutto and Chives.

KarmaFreeCooking is into savory pancakes in a big way, especially when they're in the form of crepes. She's transformed these delicate pancakes into canelloni filled with ricotta and spinach and filled them with everything from broccoli and potatoes to vegetarian ham and cheese.
