Sunday Brunch: Granola

Some people think of granola as only that thing you keep stashed away for snacks, when severe hunger makes it absolutely necessary. And while that's true of some, it is not true of all. Granola can be a welcome addition to any brunch table, served on its own or with milk or yogurt, or combined with fruit for a parfait. This recipe reminds me of early mornings on the ski hill, trying to find that balance of something that will keep me (trying) to stay upright on the slopes for the entire morning without weighing me down. Granola and milk seem like the perfect solution.

Use this recipe as a guideline to create your perfect granola. Some great things to add are brewers yeast, sesame seeds, any kind of nut or dried fruit, or even chocolate chips. This granola will keep in an airtight container for 2 weeks at room temperature; and if you think you might have some left, freeze it for a longer amount of time or put in an airtight container in the fridge for another week or two.
