Get to Know Us: Anna Bauer, Social Media Intern

Say hello to our new social media intern Anna! She'll be working on some projects with us on Foursquare and Meetup.com, in addition to helping us consume mass quantities of food and drink for taste tests (a requirement for all SE interns). Get to know her! —The Mgmt.

Describe your perfect meal. Anything Southern with amazing company.

What food won't you eat? I'll give any a try but if I don't like the texture there wont be much of a food romance.

What would you like to try but haven't yet? Alligator or bison.

Favorite food person? I don't have an all-time favorite. But I enjoy Andrew Carmellini, Mark Bittman, and Paula Deen is a riot and only slightly reminds me of my mother.

When did you first realize you were a serious eater? In high school when I wanted to go eat sushi and my friends and family wanted nothing to do with it. This expanded even more once I moved to New York.

What do your family and friends think of your food obsessions? My parents probably wish I would save my money for rent or, you know, the future. My friends love being introduced to new restaurants all the time.

Favorite food sites or blogs? I enjoy Kimberly Belle.com, Serious Eats (of course), and Grub Street.

Who's your go-to person for restaurant recommendations? I trust Kimberly Belle's opinion, as well as my friend Adam.

And what's the best recommendations they've ever given you? Spasso was suggested by KB and I enjoy it. My roommate Tao has given me some great Chinese tips.

What is your favorite meal of the day and where do you get it? I love a well-made sandwich. The Underground Lunch has different sandwiches everyday: local, organic, and one block away from my apartment.

Do you ever cook? What's the best dish you make? I love to cook! I tend to cook a lot of Italian. I make some tasty meatballs from scratch. My current obsession is avocado pasta. Also love my mama's southern French toast.
