Cook the Book: 'Good Food to Share'
Whether you're a Barefoot Contessa calibre party-thrower or a novice to the hosting game, this time of year it's pretty much inevitable that you'll be doing at least a little entertaining.
To assist you on your holiday party planning path, this week we're featuring Good Food to Share, a cookbook with a refreshingly down-to-earth angle on entertaining. Sara Kate Gillingham-Ryan, our pal from The Kitchn, throws the kind of get-togethers that everyone enjoys: warm, comfortable yet sofisticated and fuss-free even for the host.
It's a book that's filled with inviting and smart dishes meant to be served family-style, indispensable entertaining tips like how to choose cheeses and wines for your bash, and guide to putting together a killer antipasto plate. With Gillingham-Ryan's guidance, your holiday party is sure to be a smashing success.
This week we're going to be throwing our own holiday dinner party with a menu from Good Food to Share. For cocktail hour nibbles we'll be starting out with Muhammara, a Syrian roasted pepper dip and Maple-Bacon Spiced Nuts followed by a Winter Greens Salad with Roasted Pears and Pecorino and big pan of White Lasagna with Mushrooms and Prosciutto, and a few other dishes that are not only party-perfect but effortless enough to make sure that the cook has plenty of time to enjoy the party too.
