Happy birthday, Maggie!
On Tuesday we celebrated Drinks editor Maggie Hoffman's birthday with videographer Jessica Leibowitz's homemade, heart-shaped muffins and glasses of Spanish horchata from Despaña (learn more about Spanish horchata in this tour of a horchata factory). She was quite surprised since her birthday is on...Saturday. (We celebrated early because Jessica couldn't come in for the rest of the week.)

We took the opportunity to celebrate again today with sandwiches from Parm. You don't need cake when you have awesome sandwiches.

We tasted a whole lot of stuffing made of different kinds of bread prepared by our Food Lab-er Kenji Lopez-Alt. Check back later for the results!
Kenji helped realized Ed's dream of an all-pie Thanksgiving by baking off a turkey and cranberry pie, a green bean casserole pie, a stuffing pie (yep), and a mashed potato pie. Talk about carbs!
Is there such a thing as too much pie? Depends on how many people there are to eat it.
