Monday was Kenji Lopez-Alt's birthday! Since he's not a huge fan of sweets, we celebrated with duck liver mousse.

First look at the Food Lab book
Most exciting package this week: six pints of gelato and sorbetto from Capogiro in Philadelphia, one of our favorite gelato shops in the country (as mentioned in our book)! They sent us pistachio, Bacio, sea salt, pumpkin (made from Lancaster County neck pumpkin), Concord grape, and cactus pear. Yup, they all taste awesome. Thanks, Capogiro!
Best thing about receiving ice cream in the mail, aside from the ice cream: You get to play with dry ice!
