Weekend Cook and Tell Round Up: Honey Bear

Last week on the Weekend Cook and Tell we were talking honey, and all of its sweet and sticky kitchen applications. We asked all of you to don your beekeeping gear (either that or break out the honey bear) and share your favorite honey-based recipes with us. Let's take a peek into the hive and see what you came up with.

We were assuming that Full Frontal Fromage's honey pick would have something to do with cheese and we weren't disappointed by this spread of goat cheese on toast with local honey from a San Francisco apiary.

dbcurrie has all sorts of honey recipes in her sleeve. Check out her adorable Honey Hedgehog Bread, Warm Potato Salad dressed with Honey and Mustard, and little Strawberries stuffed with Cream Cheese and Honey.

zahavah shared two honey-centric bakeables, her recipe for Whole Wheat Challah with Honey where the honey counters the heartiness of the whole wheat flour and sweet little Honey Madeleines.

LizzyM chimed in with the unlikely combo of honey and eggplant, namely this Honey Garlic Eggplant that's grilled with smoked paprika and red pepper flakes.

The Primlani Kitchen decided to dabble in modernist cuisine for this week's challenge with a striking plate of Shellfish with Butter Broth topped off with a dollop of airy Honey Emulsion.

KarmaFreeCooking sweetens Spinach and Cheese Crêpes with a drizzle of honey at the end.

theindolentcook slow braised Pork Spare Ribs with ginger, garlic, fish sauce, and honey for an easy dinner for one.

Ken G shared a recipe for a Wunderbar Bienenstich cake (why yes, that does translate to "wonderful bee sting" in German) glazed with plenty of honig.
