A Sandwich a Day: The Premium at Toaster's in Salt Lake City
In this great country of ours, one could eat a different sandwich every day of the year—so that's what we'll do. Here's A Sandwich a Day, our daily look at sandwiches around the country. Got a sandwich we should check out? Let us know. —The Mgmt.
The Premium ($7.49) from Toasters layers premium prosciutto with fresh mozzarella, tomatoes, and roasted red peppers, all piled gloriously atop a ciabiatta brushed lovingly with balsamic vinegar and olive oil that's then "toasted" in a panini press. The saltiness of the prosciutto, creaminess of the mozzarella, and tang of the balsamic all play well in the sandbox together. After eating this, I thought about it for the next week straight.
Toasters also offers a lunch combo for $7.49, which includes a half sandwich, chips, drink, and soup or salad. That day, the soup was Rosemary Chicken Dumpling. Delightful little dumpling chunks (and don't we all love things named "dumpling"?) swam with tasty chicken shreds and hearty carrots in a savory broth. Between my dumpling love and the Premium, $7.49 felt like an absolute lunch bargain.
