A breakfast staple for generations, Dunkin' Donuts is no longer just a coffee and doughnut stop; they now have an entire line of breakfast sandwiches, and often features limited-time only "savory" offerings, like the pancake sausage bites. Their newest? The "Big N' Toasty," a limited-time-only breakfast sandwich—double bacon, double egg, and thick slabs of Texas Toast.

(Does the name ring a bell? McDonald's offers a sandwich called the "Big 'n Tasty," its competitor to Burger King's Whopper. It seems to me as though Dunkin' figured out a creative way to draft on McDonald's phonemes.)

When it came down to it, the Big N' Toasty was underwhelming to an extreme. Ironically, the Big N' Toasty looks small; the Texas toast, though thick and crispy, is diminutive in size, almost like Fisher-Price toast. Worse, it's soaked through in an unpleasant greasy substance reeking of butter substitute—and that's all the flavor it has.

While the eggs are quite good—peppery, over-hard, but not too rubbery—their bacon is sub-par and almost nonexistently thin. A shame, especially as I've recently had such good bacon at Arby's and Wendy's.

Overall, the sandwich was utterly passable. Though America may run on Dunkin', it won't run on the Big N' Toasty. You're much better off with the doughnuts, or even one of Dunkin's Wake-Up Wraps.
