Enter to Win a Kenny & Zuke's Pastrami Kit
We're big fans of the pastrami from Kenny & Zuke's, the Jewish-style delicatessen in Portland, Oregon. So, naturally, we were giddy to hear that they're going to start shipping their 'strami anywhere in the country. You can get just the meat in whole, unsliced pieces for $16.75 per pound (plus the price of shipping) or they're doing special pastrami kits ($49.75) which include two pounds of the meat, a loaf of Jewish rye they bake themselves, a jar of deli mustard, and a smattering of pastries (including rugelach, mmm). It'll easily make six sandwiches (meaty ones too) and then some.
The good folks at K&Z are giving us three packages to give away to three lucky readers here. To enter, just write a pastrami haiku*. A panel of judges/wordsmiths at Serious Eats HQ will select the winners.
We encourage the future winners to throw some 'strami on a massive heap of cheese-melted fries like they do it at K&Z.
* Haikus have 17 moras broken into three phrases: 5, 7, and 5 moras respectively.
Contest will end and comments will close at 5 p.m. ET, Friday, February 25, 2011. One entry per community member. Winners are limited to residents of the continental U.S. Standard Serious Eats contest rules apply. Sorry, Ed. This means you cannot enter.
