The Search for America's Best Hot Dog: The West

Last summer, SE and Every Day with Rachel Ray embarked on an epic road trip on a mission to find America's Best Hot Dog. We're celebrating the competition with slideshows highlighting all 64 contenders, organized by region.

So far, we've told you about the East Coast contenders, the Midwest ones, and those down South. Let's head west, shall we?

There are some exciting things happening in hot dogs in the West, not the least of which is the rise of the Mexican-style bacon-wrapped dog, which practically owns Tucson but has made its way to points farther west (the Mission dog carts of San Francisco are late-night legends) and even east (they've shown up in Detroit, too).
