A typical breakfast in Rome is usually cappuccino e cornetto. No need to explain what a cappuccino is, but a cornetto is a sweet croissant, sometimes glazed on top.

You can obviously pair other pastries with your cappuccino (or caffellatte), but having bread, jam, and/or butter is not quite common.

Romans don't waste much time on breakfast (usually it won't take more than 10 minutes). Breakfast is taken right on the bar, and this is why our breakfast is slim compared to the typical continental breakfast (not to mention English breakfast). When having breakfast at home, moka coffee (with or without milk), rusks and jam or cookies are a common choice.
