Cook the Book: 'Good Eats 2: The Middle Years'

20101108-ctb-goodeats2.jpgLast year we started our own Thanksgiving tradition here at Cook the Book: sharing some of our favorite Thanksgiving-centric recipes from Alton Brown's first cookbook, Good Eats: The Early Years.

Just in time for Thanksgiving, Brown is back with a sequel, Good Eats 2: The Middle Years, which picks up where The Early Years left off, with recipes from seasons six through ten. In typical Brown fashion, The Middle Years is filled to the brim with equal parts science and silliness, photos and techniques, and tons of Brown's fail-safe recipes.

And since Thanksgiving is one of those cooking-for-a-crowd holidays where recipe experimentation isn't really an option, this week we will share a menu of tried and true favorites from Good Eats: The Middle Years, including Turkey with Stuffing, from 2004's Thanksgiving episode in which Brown perfected a method for roasting a stuffed turkey, gingerale Glazed Carrots, and Sweet Potato Waffles that can act as either a side or a dessert on your Thanksgiving table.
