Cook the Book: 'Bobby Flay's Throwdown!'

2010111bobbyflaysthrowdown.jpgYou've got to hand it to Bobby Flay. He could have chosen a much less trying platform for his weekly Food Network television program, Throwdown!. Each week Flay puts his reputation on the line by seeking out masters of regional dishes and challenging them to a throwdown.

It's an always enjoyable, if not a slightly nerve-racking half hour where Flay pits his professional chops against folks with years of experience whipping up a particular specialty, finishing up with local judges to weigh in on whether the hometown favorite or the celebrity chef will reign victorious.

Like any good food show, watching Throwdown! inevitably leaves you not only hungry but curious as to how the winning and losing dishes taste. For all of you Throwdown! fans out there, Flay along with his support team, Stephanie Banyas and Miriam Garron have recently released Bobby Flay's Throwdown!, a best of cookbook including recipes from some of the best challenges of the last eight seasons of Throwdown!, with both winning recipes and the losers side by side.

This week we'll be throwing down with recipes from favorite episodes including Spaghetti and Meatballs, Macaroni and Cheese, and Chicken and Waffles, and keeping it interesting by including recipes from Flay and his challenges.
