Bon Appétit Magazine is NYC-Bound

20100921bonapp.jpgBon Appétit, which has been based in Los Angeles since it was founded in 1975, is headed east. Condé Nast's chief executive officer said the move is for efficiency's sake, and while it may make sense for the company to consolidate its assets, they're losing longtime editor Barbara Fairchild in the process. Fairchild started as an editorial assistant at the magazine 32 years ago.

In an interview with the Los Angeles Times Daily Dish, Fairchild said, "I just couldn't wrap my head around the whole concept of me moving to New York." The Daily Dish reports that Fairchild "isn't sure how many of the Los Angeles staff will be interested in relocating, either."
