Serious Entertaining: Small Bites to Pair with Sparkling Wine

When we're lucky enough to celebrate good fortune with champagne or sparkling wine, we tend to do it before the evening begins. We gather at someone's home before dinner to break open bottles of bubbly. These salty, spicy, and crunchy nibbles pair perfectly with celebratory wines.

My favorite big money celebratory champagne is the Billecart-Salmon Brut Rosé ($79) Champagne. Always special, our "Uncle Billy" inspires gasps and claps. Crisp and clean, this champagne means celebration.

At around $36, Schramsberg Blanc de Blancs is my mid-priced bottle. This bottle of California sparkling wine is widely available, consistently delicious and perfect for kicking off special events.

Budget celebrators rejoice, my wine consultants recommended Ca Vittoria ($15), a tougher to find Brut Rosé. Functionally a Prosecco, its pink color changes its legal name. This lovely pink wine works for more daily celebrations.
