Beef sandwiches and beer
The Society of St. Vincent de Paul offered beef sandwiches with slaw, and we enjoyed them with many local beers on offer.
One of my favorite tastes this weekend was the cactus fries from 51st State a gourmet taco truck in San Francisco. The Southwestern-style cactus fries were served with cilantro-lime crema.
Liba Falafel sandwich
This is so much better than it looks. Freshly fried falafel, phenomenal sauces, and housemade harissa on top made the Liba Falafel sandwich one of my favorite tastes all weekend.

The Eat Real Fest featured a LitFest with over 30 writers telling stories and reading over three nights. Gustavo Arellano, popular writer of the syndicated Ask a Mexican column, talked about street food on Friday.
Richie Nakano speaks
Richie Nakano is the guy behind the ramen phenomenon Hapa Ramen. He talked about his business philosophy: "Don't be a little bitch."
Throughout the weekend, the Gerard's paella booth made paella in huge pans—the largest was about five feet across with eight large burners. Very impressive to watch.
