Happy National Chicken Finger Day!

If you ever wanted a reason to eat chicken fingers, today is your day: July 27 is National Chicken Finger Day!—the first one ever, apparently. Fast food chain Raising Cane's is celebrating by giving away free chicken fingers to members of their Caniac Club. Other ways to celebrate include 1) making chicken fingers, and 2) ...eating chicken fingers.

I'm tempted to do the latter for dinner tonight. During my childhood I ate a lot of chicken fingers—my mom regularly packed me lunches of chicken fingers and white rice smushed into a thermos—but these days, chicken fingers fall in the category of "I really like them, but I rarely eat them because there's usually something else I'd rather eat. Also, I can't always order them when they're relegated to the 'kids only' menu."

Chicken fingers don't usually sing with poultry goodness—more like "crispy, craggly breading around a bland, tender protein strip" goodness. But there's nothing wrong with that, right? And they're even better dunked in honey mustard. (During our mustard taste test all I wanted was chicken fingers.)

Do you like chicken fingers? What are your best chicken finger-eating experiences?
